How one little farm made a big impression and how you can do it too!

Just settling into our AirBnB on the cutest little farm in North Carolina. It's got goats and chickens. It got a beautiful garden full of veggies and flowers (with a brick walkway and chairs too!). They have bees here too! It's the perfect place for us.



When we booked it, it did seem nice. We knew about the goats and chicken and dogs (6..forgot to mention them). We saw some photos of the place. All very nice.


But when we arrived! We were greeted by 2 cats (if you know me, I was seriously excited) and the owner…. and the dogs. He felt like an old friend. Just so nice and friendly. We chatted, met the goats, and he let us know that they were new at hosting. He said the eggs were freshly laid and the honey from his hives...(wait..... really? ). He hoped they did everything alright…to let him know if we needed anything. We are pretty easy going and never need much. But appreciated his hospitality.


We parted ways and went over to our apartment. Brand new deck…rocking chairs, dinette, just perfect. Hanging under the deck was a chair.


All of this was nice. We went in and the place was so sweetly decorated. So far, everything was a expected


But as we settled in, we were just in awe. All of the little details…the snacks and drinks, not unheard of but we hadn't stayed anywhere that provided so much! The eggs from their chickens and honey from their bees were a wonderful surprise! This place had everything we could ever need. Tums, Advil, stain removal, safety pins, sewing kits, soaking salts, bubble bath, lotions….and so much more! They even left us a card and gifts (honey and flower seeds!).


See…it's the small little details that wowed us. That made us feel special! That made me not want to ever go home. And guaranteed that we would be back.


That is how you should strive to be every day in your business...and in life. The small details that matter. The small details that lead to 5 star recommendations and repeat customers. The small details that set you apart.


So, look at your business…your services, products, and customer interactions. Are you delivering more than expected? Are you leaving your customers speechless?
